Upon arrival to the event, door attendants in black tuxedos greeted the revelers. Included in the invitation was a pocket containing an actual 45 RPM record displaying the invitation and details of the evening. Inside the foldout invitation, a Studio 80 graphic reflected off the silver holographic background in honor of King Zeus LXXX. A mirrored disco ball ornament completed the exterior of the invitation. The silver invitations were elaborately wrapped and tied in satin and sheer ribbons of black, white and silver, accented by a silhouette of John Travolta. Krewe members had their invitations hand-delivered by the newest Dignitaries of the Krewe. The atmosphere was filled with the sounds of acts like Donna Summer, The Village People, Kool and the Gang, the Bee Gees and Rick James. Men in silk shirts and suits, and women in jersey wrap dresses jived to mixes produced by in-house deejays. The theme of this year's dance was "Studio 80", which brought back memories of an era when revelers danced the nights away to up tempo music in famous disco scenes like Studio 54 and the Mudd Room.
